Work–Life Balance Promotion Support
Nagoya University implements an Action Plan to support the work–life balance of its faculty and staff, enabling them to build fulfilling careers while balancing work and family life.
To this end, Nagoya University proposes the following action measures to promote work–life balance among faculty and staff.
In principle, meetings shall not be held outside regular weekday working hours
Department heads and other administrators shall create an environment in which faculty and staff can easily take childcare leave and family care leave, and shall ensure thorough dissemination of information on these systems and related support frameworks.
For faculty and staff raising children under the age of two, department heads and other administrators shall reduce or exempt them from teaching responsibilities, committee assignments, and other duties.Notes:
The faculty and staff eligible under this measure include all genders and apply to those who are single (without a spouse, including those living apart from their family due to work assignments) or whose spouse is employed (including cases of long-term medical treatment).
“Living apart from one’s family” refers to individuals living separately from their family, regardless of whether they receive an allowance for living apart from their family.
